Customer-specific software development

Ever since they started to be developed, our standard products DIVA and IJP have been influenced and expanded with the involvement of customers. These standard products already meet many customer requirements because of the many modules that they contain. However, other customer requirements are also implemented and integrated in an optimum fashion, of course.
As well as submitting classical development orders it is possible to position a development that is interesting to many customers with mdv as a Feature Request. These Feature Requests can be developed during the scope of general program maintenance if there is general interest in developing the feature(s). Whether it is a customer order or program maintenance, in the area of customer-specific software development we put considerable value on meeting the demands that are made of our company.

We do this by implementing the following processes:

  • Coordinated requirement specification phase
During the requirement specification phase mdv defines the exact requirements together with the customer.
The descriptive character is decisive in this case. In the requirement specification it is not so much a case of describing the exact technical/mathematical functionality, but of explaining the required functionality using as many practical examples as possible ("use cases").
  • Performance specification phase
The requirement specification is converted into a technical specification internally at mdv, which gives the programmer exact instructions as to how to achieve the functionality and how the new development is to be integrated into the existing architecture.
  • Test phase
When development is complete, the functionality described in the requirement specification and the use cases are tested by a third party, who checks whether the development conforms to the required specification and will also fit into the existing architecture. The customer is involved in this phase if possible, so that any change requests or adaptations to new framework conditions can be made without problems.

When the test phase is complete the development is delivered at the earliest opportunity and is then available to the customer.
